Chevy Captiva Sport Gets 8 Changes For 2015 Model Year: RPO Central

Back in 2011, General Motors resurrected the Saturn Vue as the Chevrolet Captiva Sport. But rather than making the compact crossover available to all consumers, the automaker decided to offer the vehicle exclusively to fleet buyers. For the 2015 model year, the Captiva Sport is getting a total of eight changes, which might matter to those purchasing it as a used car once it has served its time in a fleet.

To start, the Black Granite Metallic and Silver Topaz Metallic exterior colors are discontinued. In their place are three new colors: Sable Metallic, Black, and Ashen Gray Metallic. Outside of that, the Captiva gets a fleet free maintenance credit as well as a change in the RPO codes of the two MyLink infotainment systems. Notably, it looks like 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot capability is not in the cards for the 2015 Captiva Sport.

Check out all of the changes just below:

Deletions

  • (GAR) Black Granite Metallic
  • (GWS) Silver Topaz Metallic

New Features

  • (G7U) Sable Metallic
  • (GBA) Black
  • (GLJ) Ashen Gray Metallic
  • (R9Y) Fleet Free Maintenance Credit

Changes

  • (UHW) Audio system, Chevrolet MyLink radio, changed the RPO code to (UI6).
  • (UHV) Audio system, Chevrolet MyLink radio with Navigation, changed the RPO code to (UI8)

  1. This could be the last year for the Theta-based Captiva. It’s quieter and more comfortable than the Ford Escape. I still want one. But if the next generation Terrain is smaller and similar in practicality, I will give it a serious look.

If anyone wants to sell me a new Captiva, please look me up.

    1. It’s not like a Caprice… And even then, I’ve had enough GM folk pull me aside and say that ‘anyone who wants one, can get one’

Made an offer on one last week… Dealer wanted a higher margin so it fell through :/

      1. Know a dealer in the east I could contact? Or maybe a GM contact I could write to?

        1. Probably your best bet is to talk to the fleet sales manager at your dealership. The easiest way to get a Captiva/Caprice is if a sale falls through, so the title becomes technically “used” and then you can get one.

Really though, with Captiva, your best bet is to buy one coming off rental use. They’re a huge bargain because most buyers want an Equinox.

          1. Agreed on the “buy a rental” comment. I bought my LTZ in May with 12k miles and all the bells and whistles for $23k, vs a comparable Equinox for $10k more. I couldn’t be happier & love my Captiva. 🙂

  2. I’ve always wondered if the MyLink backport for Vue (erm, Captiva) could be grafted onto Epsilon and Delta class cars… hardest part would be fitting the display into the center stack, but I’m curious if the GMLAN would work.

Would make for a nice upgrade for those of us with cars that are faster/better in those classes than what GM is selling today.
