Manchester United officially unveiled their Chevrolet-sponsored kits for the 2014-15 season earlier this week and even though the brand is no longer operational in Europe, the jerseys will still be beneficial for Chevy’s marketing due to Man U’s international fan base. Many of those fans are India, which has prompted General Motors India to launch Manchester United Limited Editions of both the Chevrolet Beat and Sail hatchbacks.
The limited edition Man U Beat and Sail are available now on LS variants of the cars painted in Super Red. Soccer fans can display their support as they drive around town thanks to special Manchester United Decals and special seat covers.
“We are proud to announce the launch of the Chevrolet Beat and SAIL Hatchback Manchester United Editions for football fans in India. Available in limited quantity, the models celebrate Chevrolet’s Shirt Sponsorship with Manchester United beginning today,” Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director of GM India, said in a prepared statement.
The special edition Manchester United models will carry an Rs 69,000 ($1154.13 USD) premium over standard LS variants of the Beat and Sail.
Both the Manchester United Beat and Sail are wrapping up a multi-city tour called ‘Chevrolet Fast Moves’ in India, which gives soccer enthusiasts a chance to show off their skills on video and win a trip with a friend to watch the team’s first match in North America, set to be held in August at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
