Check Out This LS1-Powered 1957 Bel Air: eBay Find

Just as you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, neither should you judge this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air by its exterior appearance. Carrying an appearance that’s nearly stock, this classic convertible hides an array of modern goodies in a tasteful package, making for a fantastic restomod example.

Underneath the coat of red paint sits a modern LS1 small-block mated to a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. No, this setup won’t win you many pink slips, but it certainly makes for a powerful boulevard cruiser that’s a joy to be in, be seen in, and drive. With amenities like power brakes and windows (including the vent windows!), the only truly “classic” part of this 1957 Bel Air is its style.

The Chevy on eBay is being sold by a Charlotte, North Carolina dealership with a “Buy It Now” price of $189,900, though buyers have the option to make the seller an offer. That sum is certainly not cheap, but the amount of detail that’s gone into the classic makes it appear to be one of the best we’ve seen. As the seller boasts,”this is the kind of car other ’57 owners hang pictures of to remind them what the best looks like.”
