Another day, another set of spy shots of the forthcoming Cadillac ATS-V coupe. This latest example was snapped by spy photographers just outside of das Nürburgring. Continuing to sport a ton of camouflage, the ATS-V coupe captured on film does provide us with a good look at the super coupe’s side profile. New rocker panels are readily apparent, and the car appears to sport wider haunches than the standard ATS coupe. Anf from what we can make out, that front clip looks eerily similar to that of the outgoing Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
Meanwhile, a set of big brakes can be seen beneath the Camaro Z/28-like wheels that the prototype vehicle rides on. While we continue to wait for official specs on the new ATS-V, we fully expect the car to use a high-output version of GM’s LF3 twin-turbo V6 – an engine that’s good for 420 horsepower in the CTS Vsport – to combat the BMW M4 and its 425 horsepower twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine. While nothing is official, we’re expecting around 450 horsepower, as we hear the modifications to the engine will involve larger turbos, and stronger internals.

Why doesn’t GM just show the car off in Detroit and continue testing it the same way team vette is still testing the Z06? The excitement is killing me, this thing needs to be here now, there are way too many bimmers and AMGs to slaughter.
GM Will show the car in NY or Detroit when it is closer to release.
They showed the Vette when it was 6-7 months out and they will do the same here. GM will no longer show cars that are a year away or more unless they have a damn good reason. In the past they propped up stock prices with long leads but today that is not an issue.
Even once they show it the tuning and testing will continue till near release with things found on the pilot cars.
beefy-looking QUAD exhaust for a twin turbo 6?Hmmmmmm…i’m suspicious about that. A SBC is sounding a lil more plausible to me now, although i do realize it could still be the LFX.
I’m sure, with the right tuning, that the 3.6tt (VVT, SIDI, IVVL, and VTM) might be able punch out 450HP and 470-485LB-FT. I am also hoping for the 8-Speed Automatic and 7-Speed Manual. Is Cadillac going to get Wagon and Convertible versions soon?
The TT should be able to go over 500 Hp bases on what I have seen.
The present Eco turbo can go to 400 HP before they recommend changing the pistons out and only a few more parts will get you to 500 HP as in the Solstice Drift car Rheys Millen raced for an entire season with no repairs.
With many of these turbo engines they are very durable and built to a different level. It is the drivelines that are the weak area as they build them to the point they need to hold up and stop in many cases. Transmissions and Axles are the tipping points.
