Last week, General Motors officially confirmed the new Buick Envision. We know the SUV will be based on General Motors’ new D2XX platform, will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ecotec engine and will go on sale in China later this year. Buick’s announcement didn’t reveal every detail about the Envision though, like what colors it will be available in and what the interior will look like, questions which are at least partially answered in new leaked pictures of the SUV.
The most notable photo is of the Envision’s interior, which appears in line with the rest of the Buick lineup, but also more modern and luxurious. An all-new steering wheel similar to the one seen on the Chinese market, D2XX-based Cruze is present, along with an eight-inch color touch screen and unique “stone wood” dash trim and dark brown leather.
Other photos give us a clearer look at the Envision’s exterior, which employs the sculpted” design language seen on new Buicks and Opels, and favored by lead Opel designer Mark Adams. In fact, one doesn’t have to look very closely to see Opel’s design DNA in the Envision’s body lines.
Check out the photos just below and let us know in the comments if this latest round of Envision photos has changed your mind about the new CUV’s styling.

The Envision looks really great. It’s a shame that it will not come to Europe…
This design would fit perfectly into the Opel lineup.
This should be the next-gen Opel Antara… more or less.
It looks good, just want to know on which Delta platform it will be based, is it the last one D2XX, Delta2 or the the first Delta. And as a mid-size crossover should it use the compact Delta or use the mid-size epsilon platform????????
It’s D2XX, the successor to Delta. The article incorrectly mentioned Delta (fixed).
The interior looks very promising. Should be quite competitive with other mid-premium offerings on the market. Value is key.
These are better than the last go-round. I like it and this new first time interior one tends to mean if the materials quality is there it will be very a upscale offering.
That particular pattern of wood veneer is a bit much, but otherwise that’s a great interior. And the exterior profile looks very much like that of the current BMW X3.
It is a smart looking vehicle. The design is pure Opel, meaning it looks great, but any unique Buick design cues (sweep spear) are gone.
Buick Envision looks like it can hold it’s own against any of the other luxury brands.
Will the Buick land on our shores ? And if it is sold here , will it be made here or exported from China ? Hope its American made ! Buick is going very upscale on the interior . would like to see a different type of wood though . Like the ambient lighting . They need to bo careful that it doesn’t take sales away from the Cadillac SRX .
I have no doubt that the Equinox, Terrain, Envision, and SRX will be built at either CAMI and/or Spring Hill Assembly Plants. The confusing part is what platforms they will be on. There are really only two explanations which include;
1. Equinox/Envision go on D2XX Platform, Terrain/SRX go on E2XX Platform, and Traverse/Acadia/Enclave go on Extended E2XX Platform. This is good as it gives each brand their own identity at combined dealerships (i.e. compact Envision and mid-size Terrain).
2. Equinox/Terrain/Envision/SRX go on D2XX Platform while Traverse/Acadia/Enclave go on both E2XX and Extended E2XX Platform’s. This is good as it gives the consumer more choice at the dealership (i.e. mainstream Equinox or luxurious SRX).
