One Oklahoma GMC dealership is out nearly $50,000 after thieves stole 76 wheels and tires from a number of its new trucks over the weekend. Employees of Patriot GMC of Bartlesville found 19 of its GMC trucks missing wheels and tires, reports KJRH Tulsa.
The dealership believes that more than one individual was involved in the theft that police say happened between 10:30 PM – 8 AM July 19-20. Police say that they think the suspects are experienced mechanics and that they “entered [the dealership] with a covered trailer and left using a back road to avoid suspicion.” According to KJRH Tulsa, the dealership has since made additional security measures to its lot to prevent further thefts.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we’ve heard of mass wheel theft at a car dealership. In February of this year a Texas Chevrolet dealership had 88 wheels and tires stolen from its cars.
