The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given the 2015 Buick Verano a five-star overall safety rating, the highest rating handed out by the organization, according to Edmunds. The 2014 Verano was given the same rating during last year’s tests.
The 2015 Verano earned give stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover test. It is equipped with 10 airbags and a rearview camera as standard, while optional safety features include side blind zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert.
Buick’s new Verano will receive OnStar’s new 4G LTE Wi-Fi system and will come with a complimentary three-month, three-gigabyte data subscription upon purchase. It will also be offered with a new appearance package for the new model year which includes a chrome front grille and a rear spoiler.

So, this isn’t really “news” in my opinion. It’s Edmunds authors meeting their article quota, and then luring others in because they “made news”.
NHTSA allows auto makers to self-certify that, provided they made no (safety-related/structural) changes to their vehicle, that newer model years (and older, for that matter) can share the ratings awarded by NHTSA.
All this confirms is that GM didn’t change anything in the Verano in MY 2015. No news there.
