This C4 Corvette Graduation Gift Didn’t Last Long At All

Some high school graduates will receive a nice gift from their parents or grandparents as a token of appreciation and recognition for the hard work they’ve done over the last four years. For boys, usually a nice watch is in order, but one Portland grad was bit luckier and received a C4 Corvette from his grandpa.

You probably know where this is going. High school student plus Corvette will almost always end with the car either in a ditch or wrapped around a tree. This young fellow, now a Portland Community College student, put his ‘Vette into a creek after flying through some heavy brush. Deputies said that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed weren’t factors in the crash and instead chalked it up to human error and slick road conditions.

Thankfully, the driver wasn’t hurt in the incident. Its easy to make light of the situation and tease the driver for what happened, but we just feel bad he wrecked his grandpa’s ‘Vette, which probably had some sentimental value to him. Maybe if he completes that community college course of his and his Grandpa gives him a C7 he’ll be a bit more careful. That might still be a bad idea, though.

Sam loves to write and has a passion for auto racing, karting and performance driving of all types.

Kids born after the mid 90’s should require a vehicle with some sort of traction management. Grandpa…Here’s your sign

What it took him four years to finish high school. That should’ve been a clue and a half.

This is why kids in aus are not allowed access to powerful cars for the first three years of their licence.
