Thief Crashes Stolen Classic Corvette Midst Police Chase

There wasn’t a new Hollywood blockbuster being filmed in Moses Lake, Washington, but we sure hope that someone got this on film. A man stole a 1963 Corvette from a storage facility in Moses Lake this past Tuesday, June 10 just after midnight, where police entered pursuit with the thief shortly after. And that’s when things became really dangerous. The driver reportedly turned off his headlights several times in order to evade the police and disappear into the night and the countryside. It almost worked.

As the driver got farther and farther away from Moses Lake, the chase got faster and faster, pushing the classic Corvette past 100 mph on Road M Northeast. Next, the driver then turned onto a gravel road and moved into a field, where officers lost sight of the car. It didn’t take too long to find it again, but that’s because the vintage Corvette was no longer moving, as the thief had crashed it. While the Corvette is not okay, the thief managed to escape, and police will continue to investigate. Needless to say, if you know anything, let the Moses Lake police know.
