If you were looking for an excuse to take your garage queen of a Corvette out on the roads this week, allow us to give you one. The 14th annual “Drive Your Corvette to Work Day” will take place on Friday June 27th, which encourages all owners of America’s sports car to take their ‘Vettes to the place that gives them their paycheque.
Drive Your Corvette to Work Day, sponsored by Mid America Motorworks was first held in 2001. Every year since, ‘Vette owners have been taking their car to the workplace and making their co-workers green with envy
“We understand why many owners consider their Corvette to be a special car and only drive it occasionally. But, we think driving your Corvette to work, at least one day a year, is an excellent way to demonstrate just how popular Corvettes are. And it is a chance to Save the Wave and keep the Corvette spirit alive,” Mike Yager, founder and Chief Cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks said in a prepared statement about the special day.
If you do have a Corvette and end up taking it to work on Friday, Mid America Motor Works would also like you to share a photo of your car at the workplace on the Corvette Passion Facebook page. So whether you own the 640 horsepower C6 ZR1 or a base model C4, grab the keys, fire up that V8 and hit the road.
