Son Gifts His Father With A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air On His 57th Birthday

We all have our dreams and aspirations, things that we would love to do, see, or own more than anything else in the world. However sometimes life gets in the way, your priorities change and instead of buying that dream car of yours or taking that vacation you’ve always fantasized about, your putting cash into a college fund for the kids and trying to pay off a mortgage.

The father of this YouTube user is no different. His dad had always dreamed of owning a ’57 Chevrolet Bel Air and would get excited just talking about owning the car, but “knew her never would be able to.” One day when he was eight years old, he promised his dad that for his 57th birthday, he would buy him a ’57 Chevy, no matter what.

His father might have forgotten about that promise, but he sure didn’t. According to a thread started by him on Reddit, he worked 60 hour, 6-day work weeks over the course of a few months to help buy his dad the car. He found a nice ’57 for sale and jumped on the opportunity to buy the car, even though his father’s 57th birthday was still two years out.

He held onto the car that entire time, until his dad’s 57th birthday finally rolled around. As you can see in the video below, the dad can hardly contain his happiness when he’s shown the car and sheds a few tears while he and his son have a heartfelt moment in the driveway. Now if you’ll excuse me, I think there’s something in my eye.
