After the much-ballyhooed overhaul of the GMC Sierra for the 2014 model year, what does GMC have planned for the Sierra Denali for 2015? Worth telling your neighbors is the available Magnetic Ride Control.
“With Magnetic Ride Control, the 2015 GMC Sierra Denali delivers a smoother, more confident driving experience without sacrificing the capabilities customers expect from a GMC truck,” said executive chief engineer, Jeff Luke. “The responsiveness of the system makes this full-size truck feel and drive like a luxury vehicle – and one that’s more comfortable on long trips, especially when trailering.”
So how does it work? The truck has sensors that read the road 1,000 times per second. It takes these readings and applies them to the dampening settings on the truck in as little as five milliseconds, making for a very comfortable ride. The technology, which has been licensed by Ferrari, has been in The General’s stable for a while,” but has been specially modified for big time hauling.

This will be a major addition to the truck line.
Folks this will be the best riding truck on the market and no one else has a license for the system.
Just be prepared for the price.
Well it’s about damn time, can we get it on the Silverado anytime soon?
This is very impressive news, especially for a guy, who is a huge GM fan, and planning to order a new GMC 1500 Series SLT. Now, I just decided to wait, to see what the ‘Changes’ are, for a fully loaded SLT Double Cab 4X4, for 2015…I would love to have the Denali option, in the Double Cab, but GM dropped that possibility, several years ago, and we need the space in the bed, for cargo…as Mercedes & BMW owners, for over 30 years, a Denali Double Cab, would be almost everything 🙂 Having the shifter in the Console, like the Ford Lariat Super Cab, would make for Perfect!! Thanks for allowing me to comment, DVB in Nevada
I will warn that this option may remain a Denali and or a High Country option only because of the cost. It will not be cheap.
The Double Cab or Extended Cabs may be on their way out. I am a fan too but sales are dropping as more people are going tot he crew cab since they are offering more bed options. I read a report that called the extended cab an endangered spices in a full size truck. That story was directed at all the brands not just GM.
I hope the extended cab in the Canyon was a sign GM is not giving up and the perdition in the story was premature.
Note changes like this were not recent editions as it take time to develop things like this. Many of the new things in the trucks are things that were not ready at intro like the 8 speed tranny that will come later too.
I get the feeling GM is spreading out the cost and man power to add these things as do it all at once would have delayed the trucks if they had waited or would have gone over budget for doing it the first year.
If they had waited for the tranny alone we still would not have had a new truck.
I wish that GM would extend magnetic ride to it’s entire line. This suspension system is transformative for the auto world.
This suspension will not make all models anytime soon as it is not a cheap system. But the more vehicles they offer it on as time goes on it will help lower cost and at some point we may see it on all models.
This is like Anti Lock brakes and Stability Control. These appeared on the expensive cars at first and filtered down over the years to all models when cost were in control.
We should see the same on Ceramic brakes at some point in the future too.
For now this is a Denali and possibly a High Country option at best for a while.
How would this compare to RAM’s air suspension option?
I changed my brand of tires from Bridgestone to good year. The ride was so much worse I think I should go back to Bridgestone. Can someone tell me if this really makes that much of a difference,?⁷Po
