One-Of-199 1963 Corvette Z06 Split Window Finds Itself On eBay

The 2015 Corvette Z06 is getting a lot of hype recently, but that new car hype always causes car enthusiasts to reminisce about some of the older models of that car. This 1963 Corvette Z06 is a definitive classic. First, it’s rare. Only 199 were made of the NCRS Top Flight Split Window FI series. Second, it has a V8 engine that reminds you of why 1960’s American muscle cars put a huge smile on the driver’s face, even 50 years later today. Third, it’s beautiful. The car is painted Riverside Red, the perfect color for any classic Corvette. It’s a perfect blend of quintessential American beauty and raw power.

This trifecta of greatness doesn’t come cheap though. While the 1963 Corvette Z06 cost just $6,070.45 in 1963, appreciation and inflation have affected that number quite a bit. The car is on sale for $259,900. Talk about a wise investment for whomever got one of these at the dealership. That’s Ferrari 458 money, though. Then again, there are a lot more than 199 Ferrari 458s on the road, and while a Ferrari always turns heads, the ’63 Z06 will turn the heads of those that know what they’re really looking at – a piece of automotive history. Meanwhile, there’s another 1963 Corvette — owned by Mickey Thompson — crossing the Mecum Seattle auction block this weekend.
