Last C1 Corvette Ever Made To Cross Mecum’s Seattle Auction Block

At a first glance, this 1962 C1 Corvette set to cross the auction block at Mecum’s Seattle auction this Saturday looks pretty normal. It has a Tuxedo Black exterior with a beige interior, a white auxiliary hard top and a 4-speed manual transmission. It sounds pretty ho hum, but this Corvette is harboring a small secret.

This is actually the last first-generation Corvette to be made. Corvette Blogger says its VIN #14531 and was purchased sometime in 1965. It comes complete with service records and receipts and photos from a frame off restoration, which was completed in 1996. Another interesting fact is that its only had two owners since new and is also the last solid-axle Corvette ever made.

Check out the listing for the car here, complete with more pictures and information.
