Who doesn’t love a good road trip story? Whether it’s Jack Kerouac’s On the Road or the Farrelly Brothers’ “Dumb and Dumber,” there’s always a certain excitement that comes with hitting the open road. That’s why Hot Rod magazine took the infamous blown 1967 Chevrolet “Crusher” Camaro and drove it from Los Angeles to Scottsdale, Ariz. and back.
Except it wasn’t quite as easy as hopping in the car and driving.
The Hot Rod duo of David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan immediately came across a flurry of issues with the Camaro that delayed their trip’s start, but once they got going, the yellow bruiser proved to be a worthy travel companion . . . perhaps. Freiburger and Finnegan don’t indicate how many MPGs they manage on their trip, but they do reveal a number of other great tips in the below video.
