Throughout the years, the Corvette has featured a removable roof panel, giving the driver an endless amount of headroom as the wind blows through their hair. Some of the more performance oriented models, such as the C6 Z06, didn’t come with a removable roof panel and instead had a normal, fixed roof. However the Z06 in the video below decided it wanted to be a open top anyways and ditched its fixed roof panel on a high speed quarter mile pass.
This car could just have faulty seals, or maybe it was part of the recall on C6 Corvettes for a roof panel which would de-laminate and was never fixed. Either way we hope the owner got his roof fixed, at the speed it went flying off, it could have been bad news for spectators or the helpless Neon his ‘Vette walked all over.
