If an engine is the heart of a car, then oil and lubricants are its lifeblood, and for the 18th consecutive year Corvette Racing is teaming up with Mobil 1 to provide the lifeblood that will keep the C7.R’s V8 heart, and other moving parts, in top shape. Just like the production car.
“Our deep involvement with Chevrolet, from Corvette production models available to consumers to the thrilling new Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, provides a powerful platform to fully demonstrate and prove the protection and performance benefits of Mobil 1 products,” David Tsurusaki, strategic global alliance manager, ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants, in a press release.
ExxonMobil further notes that its collaboration with Corvette Racing has led to advancements in the lubricants used in production cars.
Running in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship racing series, the Corvette Racing C7.R competes in the GT Le Mans class, which includes competing sports cars from Aston Martin, BMW and Dodge (née SRT).
To see Corvette Racing in action check out the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, airing this Sunday at 11:00 AM EST on Fox Sports 1.

Aren’t there better oils these days?? That’s all I see on forums… and it’s not M1.
Better oils are like opinions on better religions and better political parties.
Mobil one is one of the best out there and it meets all the needs and standards GM and many other MFG has out there. Oils have to meet standards and the truth is most are pretty much very similar as it is only the type of oil that is different.
The fact is most all MFG have very high standards for engine oils to make the engines live hard lives till the warranty is up. Also cost factors are in play too as you can not expect people to pay the same price for oil in a Chevy as a Ferrari owner pays for Agrip Oil in his Enzo.
For the price and the durability Mobil One meets all the need it has to meet to preserve a factory built engine.
As for the race team it is a marketing deal as Mobil already supplies GM with OE oil and by supplying the race team with the oils they need it makes a good tie in. Also they will be willing to formulate special blends for the team to better help the team.
I have used many different oils over the years and the results have always been the same no issues. I use Mobil now due to the fact it came in my car from the factory and meets all the needs I have and I can get it cheap.
It is more how you change and run your oils and just using a good synthetic vs. the brand.
I am using Mobil 1 in my cars since 1984 in a 1980 Ford Mustang, and when it was sold in chrome plated steel cans. I just changed the oil in my 1995 Regal, and I still have the five quart plastic jug with used oil which I will return to the vendor for recycling.
