Ever hear of Shmee? Seems he’s a bloke from London who appears to be pretty young and pretty wealthy. He owns a McLaren supercar and travels the world showing his social media followers neat car stuff. In the latest of his exploits, he’s in Miami for the start of the Gumball 3000 Rally. Of special interest to this Limey is a 2014 Corvette Stingray.
But this isn’t just any Corvette—this one has been redone in blue chrome with fluorescent pink highlights. Pretty cool, eh? This was Shmee’s first sighting of a C7, as they aren’t a common sight in Europe, as you can imagine. Always nice to get the paradigm of another culture to see if it’s as polarizing as it’s been to North Americans’ eyes.
Next on the stop for the Gumball 3000 is Atlanta, then New York. The whole race then crosses the Atlantic to Scotland, then London, Barcelona, Paris, and finally arriving in the Spanish isle of Ibiza. Shmee plans to follow the pack in his friend’s GT-R, upon which they’ll segue into his McLaren once they arrive in the United Kingdom.
