Chevy Performance A Big Presence At Hot Rod Power Tour 2014

Old car enthusiasts know the Hot Rod Power Tour as one of the greatest automotive events in the U.S. The Woodward Dream Cruise and Pebble Beach may be more famous attractions for old-car enthusiasts, but the Power Tour manages to bring the show to the people. Chevrolet Performance, long a Power Tour sponsor, were at it again showing the public the latest and greatest from their fleet of stock and built vehicles, crate engines, plus a group of Motor Medics to save the day for Power Tour participants.

The crown jewel at Chevrolet Performance’s display is the above 1988 Monte Carlo SS, a completely rebuilt hot rod that’s made its debut for Power Tour 2014. The tepid 305/automatic was replaced by a LS376/525 motor with T-56 transmission. According to Hot Rod, “That’s the hot cam version of the 6.2L LS3 that’s good for 525 hp and more than 450 lb-ft of torque.”

Visit Hot Rod‘s blog to check out all of Chevrolet Performance’s display, from more pics on the above G-body plus a neat K-10 short-bed pickup, custom Silverados, limited-edition C7 Corvettes, several Camaro exercises, and even the sleeper SS (aka “the four-door Corvette”).
