2015 Camaro Gets A Total Of 8 Changes: RPO Central

Having given the 2014 Camaro a fairly considerable refresh and the beastly Z/28 model, Chevy is giving its sports car a total of eight changes for the 2015 model year.
These include the discontinuation of the Deep Magenta Metallic and Blue Ray Metallic colors, which are replaced by Blue Velvet Metallic. In addition, the tonneau cover is now an optional feature on the 2015 Camaro Convertible 2LT, rather than being standard on the 2014 model, and the finish of the 20-inch wheels seen on the RS package changes to Bright Silver-painted.
The 2015 Camaro also brings two new LPO options (aka official Chevrolet accessories): a spoiler extension and a feature that facilitates the illumination of foot wells.
To note, 2015 will be either the last or second-to-last model year of the fifth-generation Camaro, with the all-new Alpha-based Camaro due sooner and sooner every day.
In the meantime, here are the official changes to the 2015 Camaro:
Deletions
- (G7F) Deep Magenta Metallic exterior color
- (GXH) Blue Ray Metallic exterior color
New Features
- (G1M) Blue Velvet Metallic exterior color
- (S0U) Illuminated foot wells, LPO
- (SIA) Spoiler extension, LPO
Changes
- (E45) Tonneau cover changed from standard to available on 2LT Convertible
- (R42) 20″ wheels finish changes to Bright Silver-painted with the (WRS) RS Package
Once again, GM keeps electric blue off the table. Synergy Green got at least a full model year run. Kinetic Blue got restricted to Hot Wheels.
If it was good enough for 2010 MY Sky and Solstice, why keep replacing dark failed shade of blue after dark failed shade of blue?
I would have bought a non-hotwheels Kinetic Camaro. I don’t want toy car plastered over my seats. Looks like it won’t happen 5th gen.
Thankfully Hot Wheels Camaros have been falling like lead balloons so I may just debadge.
The neighbor lady had a Verano in the Luxo blue shade. To me, almost an electric blue and although I like blue it was about too much for that car. These sports cars ie. Camaro and Corvette IMO need it though because that’s where the shade looks best.
What, no 4G love for the Camaro? Why? Obviously you won’t need to wifi it out to 10 different people in the car as much as you would in the suburban… but it’s still a useful feature that can serve as a major differentiator against the new mustang.
