Chevrolet Traverse, Equinox Make List Of Most Stolen SUVs

There are several lists that you might be to delighted to see your recently purchased vehicle featured on, like Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Awards or J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study, for example. However if there is one which you definitely do not want to see your new car on, it’s the list of most stolen vehicles.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau recently released a list of the most stolen crossovers and SUVs from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2013, and a couple of General Motors products made an appearance.

Coming in at number ten on the list is the Chevrolet Equinox. Criminals swiped 648 Equinoxs from their owners between the beginning of 2010 and the end of 2013, making it the least stolen of the most stolen SUVs.

The news is a little worse for owners of the larger Chevrolet Traverse. With 720 units stolen, it’s the sixth most desirable SUV for car thieves in the United States. Still, they won’t have to watch their backs as much as owners of the Ford Escape, which came in at number one on the list with 1,421 units stolen.

  2. Not really as the Nox sells twice as many and has twice the number too choose from.

Also with more cars on the road they are easier to dump the parts. The big sellers are always the most stolen most times. When the Cutlass was number one it was the most stolen too.

I am not worried about my terrain and if they take it I am insures and they build new ones every day. LOL!
