2015 Corvette Stingray Gets 8-Speed Auto, New Colors, OnStar 4G LTE & More: RPO Central

There is simply no questioning the general aptitude for performance of the 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray. What started out as one of Chevrolet’s most anticipated reveals of the decade has turned into a giant success story, with the new 2014 Stingray winning accolades, praise, and wishful looks from bystanders all around. And for the 2015 model year, Chevy is making its uncompromising sports car even better.
To start, the Lime Rock Green Metallic and Cyber Gray Metallic exterior colors are being replaced by two new hues — Shark Gray Metallic and Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic (an extra cost color). But the bigger news is that the standard 6-speed paddle-shift automatic gearbox with the 2.56 rear axle ratio will officially be replaced by a new 8-speed unit with a 2.41 ratio.
On the high-tech front, the 2015 Vette Stingray joins the host of GM vehicles to get OnStar 4G LTE, while the very useful (and cool) Performance Data and Video Recorder (PDR) gets direct integration.
A host of new packages joins the options list, including new wheels, a Chrome Badge Package, Carbon Flash Badge Package, and Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package. In addition, the Z51 Performance Package now (finally!) includes the Performance Exhaust and 3LT trim level includes the Sueded Microfiber-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package.

Farewell, GBV. If you want a G6 GXP, an HHR SS, C6 & C7 Corvettes in the same color – there was your route.
At least Shark is a world better than Ashen.
Ashen Grey and Cyber Grey are both colours available on the Chevy Cruze. The C7 deserves it’s own exclusive palette! Good for them!
Seriously??? Think they need to do some firing in the paint dept. get rid of the green for orange? Idiots
I don’t have a link but a very small percent of the corvettes were sold with the colour lime rock green. So GM decided to replace it with Daytona orange.
If you ever saw a Lime Green C7 you would understand why they did that. In Canada where C7 ‘s are in very short supply there were 2 Green C7’s on showroom floor without any takers. It’s ugly!! So glad they discontinued it.
Watch the new Transformer movie this week that has a green Corvette as one of the Autobots. Then watch as the fans buy more green Corvettes!
This is cool news and all, but (and this is very biased since i am 95% buying) with the RPO changes coming out for many models, it just means full specs and pricing on the Canyon is so damn close too!
Canyon crew cab – reg bed
3.6L
Black, Brownstone, or Grey
Leather
4×4
Z71, maybe All Terrain
Then leveling kit, maybe a small (2″) lift, LineX, Extang hard folding tonneau, and my bayliner in-tow behind it!
It is part from the Chevy to have something new every year. The cancellation of Lime Rock was something logical because even though a group of people want that color demand is little or minimal, but a nice color.
For Cyber you are missed. New offers new Shark Grey and Orange will seem interesting novelty and yet I see more sales Shark Grey.
I think the 10 exterior paints Corvette is indicated.
Some might want up to 16 options, but this would be excessive. White Diamond or the new Iridescent: Maybe a white or pearl metallic necessary.
And also replace Black (non-metallic) instead offer Black Granite Metallic.
A metallic bronze would be AWESOME!
