Pace Performance Introduces 525-horse LS3

Pace Performance’s LS Muscle Car Series of crate motors has now been joined by the LS376/525 that blends Chevrolet Performance’s mighty 6.2L motor and race-derived ASA camshaft with a number of improvements by Pace as requested by its customers.

“This is a terrific engine combination that illustrates perfectly the performance potential of the LS engine family–and how it can be enhanced dramatically at an affordable price. Whether you’ve got a new Camaro or a classic Chevelle, this engine delivers terrific bang for the buck,” says GM U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, Jim Campbell, about the stock motor.

The ASA camshaft is a hydraulic roller with .525-inch lift on both the intake and exhaust sides; duration is 226 degrees on the intake side and 236 degrees on the exhaust side. Combined with 110-degree lobe separation angle, the LS376/525 is claimed to deliver excellent throttle response with exceptional breathing at high rpms. “The LS376/525 engine has an edge to it,” said Campbell. “You’ll notice it in the idle quality and you’ll feel it when the revs quickly climb.”

But there’s more to this once Pace Performance gets ahold of it—they remove the factory oil pan and install a low-profile item from Mast Motorsports. They also install an accessory drive system so the factory water pump and balancer are also removed, with Pace indexing and drilling the crank for pin/keyway. That is followed by the installation of the HeatShield Products’ I-M Shield intake manifold heat barrier, and the rocker arms are treated to heavy-duty roller trunions. A HP Tuner’s 6110 code scanner/reader is included, and can be upgraded for custom tuning with the purchase of additional software.

Best of all: you still get General Motors’ limited two-year/50,000-mile parts & labor warranty!
