Concept cars or design exercises usually don’t survive long after the show season. Sure, there are some exceptions—witness the Motorama dream cars of the Joe Bortz Collection—but most of them get scrapped. Not the 1993 Chevrolet Highlander.
Basically a show car giving a hint of the 1994 compact Chevy truck line, the Highlander was an extended cab S-10 pickup given a going-over by General Motors designers, with a retractable roll bar that features a fabric top that automatically rolls out to cover the bed. And what show car worth its salt doesn’t come with custom wheels, fog lights, custom dash, sun roof, and front and rear winch?
All this can be yours if you hit the Buy It Now on eBay, but be sure to ask the seller about licensing the Highlander because it “runs and drives but … [has] no title,” which may mean it’s more of a conversation piece for visitors to your home rather than at the next car cruise.
That looks completely fake? Not sure if it is or not, but the look has model toy written all over it with the scale not matching the background.
That is a show car? It is a truck!
