With a relationship going on 21 years strong, ExxonMobil’s Mobil 1 has been the motor oil of choice for the folks who build the Corvette in Bowling Green. On Monday ExxonMobil announced an agreement for Mobil 1 to continue being used as the motor oil of choice in the Corvettes factory.
Chevrolet recommends Mobil 1 5W-30 for service-fill oil changes and Mobil 1 15W-50 for track events and competitive driving. If you’re one of the lucky ones driving Corvette Racing’s Corvette C7.R, Mobil 1 synthetic oil is recommended.
“It is a testament to ExxonMobil’s commitment to advanced lubricant technology that Chevrolet has chosen Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil for the high-performance Corvette engines,” says strategic global alliance manager for ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants, David Tsurusaki.  “As the Corvette Stingray hits roads around the world, we want Corvette owners to know that Mobil 1 motor oil is specifically designed to meet their high-performance demands and will help keep their engines running like new.”
ExxonMobil’s Mobil 1 motor oils are designed at the molecular level and enhanced with a proprietary additive system to provide outstanding protection against wear, high heat, cold weather, and sludge buildup.

Mobil 1 is all I use anymore.
I beat GM here, because I began using Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my 1980 Ford Mustang and in my 1984 Old Ciera (over thirty years ago) and I am still using it in my two GM vehicles now. After reading about it in the Popular Science articles of the 1970’s, I took the plunge into it after finding one single dealer who sold that oil. Now it is sold even at Walmart, and my engines are happy!
