Mecum Corvette Auction Canned

Many people are very passionate about classic Corvettes. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough interested this time around for Mecum Auctions. The auction to have been held in Champaign, Illinois was to feature solely Corvettes but was cancelled due to a lack of interest, according to Mecum. Although there will not be an auction, the Corvette enthusiast will still have something to look forward to.

“Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA will continue to offer its great services with expert judging in Gold, Benchmark and Survivor Certification, hosting a swap meet/vendor area, a car corral and providing top-of-the-line Corvette enthusiast entertainment,” according to an official statement from Mecum.

Those looking to make a purchase will be able to do so as well in the GoldMine. Owners can enter their cars for $150, and cars will be sold directly. While this makes the lack of an auction seem to be a lack of an issue, many classic car enthusiasts thrive on auctions because of the ability to get a great car for a cheap price, so long as nobody else is interested in buying it. When selling directly, the owner can refuse offers completely, which makes finding a fantastic deal near impossible.
