Yesterday we brought you footage of Hennessey Performance Engineering testing out their HPE600 supercharger kit for the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan. If you want more than 600 horsepower though, then maybe you should HPE a call, as they have just released details on the 1000 horsepower HPE1000 package for the SS.
Much like the HPE1000 Camaro ZL1 the company showcased this week, the SS uses an LSX-based 7.0-liter block. Strapped to it are a pair of twin ball bearing turbochargers, along with a custom HPE camshaft, forged pistons and connection rods, a fully upgraded fuel system and more. The laundry list for this one is extensive, but it can be read in its entirety here. Additionally, HPE says they can install a six-speed manual transmission in the vehicle, or upgrade the existing six-speed automatic.
For now, there is no video of the HPE1000 SS on the dyno or at the drag strip, but we anticipate we will see one in the future. For now, you’ll just have to take our word for it: It will be fast.
