General Motors yesterday announced it will invest $10 million in its Swartz Creek Customer Care and Aftersales facility, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Upgrades to the facility will include improvements to the information technology center and paint shop. The exterior of the administration building will also receive a new brick front as well as an expanded lawn with additional trees and landscaping.
The facility, which became operational in 1958 and covers 3.1 million square feet, employs 308 hourly and salaried workers. It is mainly used for supply chain, warehousing, logistics and parts distribution and sends out more than 9,000 collision parts to GM’s nationwide dealer network.
