In April it was revealed that Chevrolet will be restricting the sale of factory replacement parts for the 2014 Camaro Z/28 to prevent Camaro owners from attempting to clone the limited-run track star. Only 500 Z/28’s were built this year and they are all sold out, meaning there are plenty of enthusiasts out there who missed their chance to get the range-topping Camaro. Luckily for them, Chevy has decided to appease them and will actually offer certain Camaro Z/28 parts for sale.
According to Car and Driver, Chevrolet will offer nine different Z/28 performance packages for non-Z/28 Camaros. This includes a Z/28 suspension kit, which if ticked off on the options list will grace your Camaro with the spool-valve dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and front and rear suspension pieces from the Z/28. The helical differential from the Z/28 is also available in a separate kit which comes with an integrated heat exchanger for the diff cover, although it is not available for individual sale.
Chevrolet will also offer the Z/28’s brake cooling ducts, cold-air intake, exhaust manifolds for V8 models, cat-back exhaust, supportive Recaro seats and a differential cooling package. The most surprising bit, however, is the Z/28’s aerodynamics package will be available to Camaro owners. The pack includes the front splitter, wheel-lip extensions, underbody tray, and rear spoiler.
With this latest advancement, cloning a Z/28 seems much more impossible. You still won’t be fooling anyone though, you’ll be missing crucial bits like the Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, the sporty lightweight wheels and the signature ‘Flowtie’ emblem. We wouldn’t blame you for trying, though.

The aero kit should only be offered on the zl1.
Funny, the thing I have wanted most is the Flow-tie. I mean, one could make one but I really didn’t want to have to do that.
