Trivia: Cadillac Completely Dominates In This Area

It’s no secret that Cadillac is well on its way to becoming an automotive luxury brand to be reckoned with, in terms of product, sales performance, and brand image. Next up for the Wreath and Crest brand is the next batch of all-new segment-leading vehicles, including the full-size LTS flagship sedan, an upcoming compact crossover, next-gen SRX, an upcoming full-size crossover, and the all-new 2015 Escalade… and Escalade EXT (just kidding about that last one). But did you now that Cadillac’s current product portfolio completely dominates the competition in one area. Can you guess what it is?

Remote start from a smartphone.

That’s right, Cadillac absolutely owns the luxury space when it comes to the ability to remotely start a vehicle using a smartphone, accounting for 100 percent supremacy. Of course, the brand enjoys the competitive advantage thanks to the GM-OnStar RemoteLink app, which other competitors simply can not currently match.

  2. It is neat but a lot of people dont use onstar after their free trial ends though and also it sucks if you don’t have verizon because using sprint to use the app just makes it sooo much slower!

  3. It Is not worth the price of on star. Also how far away do you really need to be to start? Mine already starts from the second floor of my office even in the last row out.

GM also has offered an extended range remote start that will go over a mile.

  6. To clarify. The Onstar Remote Link App with Key Fob Services is now standard for 5 years/100K miles on most 2014 and up GM product if you dowload and activate within 5 days of vehicle delivery. You do not need to continue paying for Onstar services to take advantage of Remote Link.

    1. Still how far away do you really need to start your car?

Also if you are going to offer this it should be for the life of the car not 5 years. This will be off little value on the used car market when they get older.

  7. No doubt about it… Cadillac is on a roll.

On Star is worth the price of admission… on any GM product.
