Last year the Internet was abuzz on the disappearance of a 1970 Chevelle SS from the Goodguys show in Indianapolis. Keith Parmer of Michigan had spent $300,000 on his pride and joy over the years, only to have it stolen from his trailer at a major automotive event.
Now the ABC affiliate in Indy is reporting that Herbert Lee Jones IIIÂ has been arrested for receiving stolen property and auto theft.
Seems that Jones called Parmer and said he received the car in trade for a motorcycle and that he’d sell Parmer the Chevelle for $20,000 or, within two weeks, the car would be parted. Police arranged for undercover detectives to meet with Jones on April 12, 2014. When Jones arrived with the Chevelle, he was promptly arrested.
No word on the condition of the Chevelle, but it is the third of four stolen cars from the Goodguys event that have been recovered, with two of them recovered within a week.

Can I get a spec sheet, and reasons as to why this Chevelle SS is worth, $300,000?
I don’t see any gold on it. hmmm
He said he has over $300k into it. Actually valued at over $100,000.
Short of rebuilding one from scratch with the best mechanical artisans; with state of the art modern motor, drive-train and suspension, and maybe major body parts crafted from carbon fiber – I can’t fathom spending $300,000 on a Chevelle.
Well at least he got it back.
How do I get on the link for Sonics? I bought two 2013 LT Sonics and would like to give some input on the calibration and the interior?
My email is [email protected] and yes, I do own a documented 1969 L88 automatic, in addition to my 2013 1.4L Turbo Sonic. Thank you,l
