Toyota recently announced the recall of 1.3 million vehicles due to the possibility that the connections of an air bag cable may become damaged when turning the steering wheel. This recall includes the Matrix, which is the twin to the Pontiac Vibe.
“About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available,” said General Motors recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog.
Toyota has the replacement part but is still making preparations to begin the repairs. GM Authority does not know which General Motors dealers will handle the recall so call GM Customer Service at 1-866-636-2273 or email at [email protected] to learn if your Vibe may be affected.
