Holden, via social media, has unveiled another special edition to the VF Commodore range and a special edition Colorado. Reviving a previous special edition name, the new “Storm” editions are available on Commodore SV6, Commodore SS, Ute SV6, Ute SS and Colorado Crew Cab LTZ 4×4 Pick-up. Both Commodore sedan and Sportwagon have the Storm special edition. The Storm joins the “Collingwoodore” and International special editions for Commodore. Holden’s brochure claims they’ve “imagined a car that would create a Storm” and with these upgrades and unique features, they certainly have.
The Storm VF Commodore & Ute packages include:
– Satellite Navigation
– Special Edition 18-inch Alloy wheels
– Special Edition chrome “Storm” badging
– Chrome highlights
– Front fog lights
– Red seat stitching (on SV6/SS standard suede with leather inserts)
– “Storm” embroidery on the dash
– Plus all other features standard on SV6 and SS trims.
Meanwhile, the Holden Colorado Storm gives buyers:
– 17-inch Alloy wheels
– Side Steps
– Black Sports Nudge Bar
– Black Sports Tray Bar
– Storm Badge
– LED Tail Lights
– Side Decal (which the sedans do not receive)
– Plus all other standard features on the model
The GM Authority take:
These special additions are exciting to see and consumers will appreciate the added features, bridging the gap between the regular SS and SS-V. For Storm SV6, the additional features will be most welcome, as the SV6 is the only V6 offering within the Commodore & Ute sport trim line-ups. Its 3.6L V6 is also more powerful than the VF Evoke and International’s 3.0L V6, while being more fuel efficient than the 6.0L V8 in other models.
As for the Holden Colorado, hopefully this Storm special edition will attract more buyers, as sales are far behind that of the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger in Australia. The side graphic adds a bit of flare to the truck whilst the tray bar and nudge bar add toughness, but the option of leather seats remain curiously absent.
