With the 2014 New York Auto Show fast approaching, automakers are busy implementing plans surrounding what existing and all-new models they will bring to the show. Chevrolet is no exception, as the Bow Tie brand is planning to show off a new variant of the Corvette C7 to the Big Apple, along with a new addition to its small vehicle lineup, and an updated 2015 Cruze, according to Autoblog.
We know the one thing in that paragraph that piqued your interest was “a new variant of the C7 Corvette.” As to what that could be, we can only speculate. Autoblog points out a ZR1 variant is off the table, so we know it isn’t that. Perhaps we will see the hardcore Z06X variant that Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles hinted at the Detroit Auto Show, or perhaps another variant of an existing model.
As for the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, it is currently unclear if the model being brought to New York will be an updated version of the current car, like what was spotted on the back of a flatbed in China, or the all-new model which was spotted outside the GM-Shanghai plant in China last week. As for what the new-addition to the small car lineup is, that’s anybody’s guess. That said, we do know Chevy has an all-new Spark in the works… but the timing for the all-new model doesn’t seem right.
There is only one way to find out what Chevrolet has up its sleeve for New York: waiting patiently until the first press day on April 15. GM Authority will be on hand at the show for all the live reveals as they happen, so be sure to check back for news on the models mentioned here. Feel free to speculate what secrets Chevy is hiding in the comments below in the meantime.
Update: here are the reveals:
- 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible
- 2015 Chevrolet Trax (coming to the U.S.)
- 2015 Chevrolet Cruze (refreshed existing model)

didn’t GM Authority show a few pics about a month ago of a stingray wearing a zo6 front clip, so it might even be a 2015 grand sport, either way its exciting news, and does anybody know if the ATS-V is being unveiled by Cadillac?
Might be the GranSport that was spotted a few weeks/months back.
Let’s get a price and performance spec sheet for the Colorado too.
As what’s his name used to say on the old hit show “Laugh In” Verrry Interesting. I cant wait to see this Cruze thing.
That was Arte Johnson playing a German soldier. I was a fan of that show.

I would not hold my breath for a Grand Sport as there is no real space for one right now.
I expect it could be the track car or just something as simple as a limited edition paint car like they have offered. It could even be the Z07 carbon option on the Z06 since it was never shown.
The truth is there really has been no sign of a GS and The Z51 pretty much holds that slot for now and we have not even got the Z06 out yet.
I really hope they don’t bring an updated version of the current Cruze. I cannot imagine anything less interesting. The only thing that would be worthwhile there will be the all-new, lighter car on the new platform. But it is not time for that yet. Maybe a hatch might be somewhat interesting.
Mark Reuss has been hinting strongly about a mainstream affordable wagon. It makes sense to come out with a wagon on your best mainstream car platform(cruze). On the small car front I can see possibly a Sonic/Spark with a 3 cyl ecotec turbo.
Also, look for the intro of the Chevrolet Trax. We have it in Canada already, and it seems to be selling well here.
Not so sure on the Trax as It would be difficult to price under the Encore.
I want to say that these are not going to be shocking cars but GM has a habit of hiding some really special models from the press and public and springing it on them at New York. Last year was the Z/28 that no one saw coming not even some GM insiders.
I read on left lane maybe a z06 convertible? And does gm sell the Orlando in he US here in canada like the trax it’s a pretty impressive car with its seating capacity and small footprint
The Orlando is on a platform Delta 2 that is going to die with soon. No new product on it.
Now a Z06 Convertible has been talked about and was also on my mind.
Oh boy a new Spark. That’ll get the crowds in! Last year the Spark was in the hallway outside the Main building. Maybe they can hand out light weight key fobs at the door!
I wish your were correct! I am waiting to see the 2015 Chevy Spark, and I wish to buy the electric version. I am expecting GM to announce a national marketing and sales so anyone in America can buy a Spark EV.
I think GMC should get a sportwagon. The Terrain should go on the Canyon platform to compete with Jeep. I feel that a refreshed Cruze is redundant as it is still selling great. I’d be very interested to see a new Spark and a refreshed Sonic.
Spark & Sonic-

Why can’t Chevrolet get the Caprice here as a luxury long wheelbase sedan, and the wagon and the pickup from the rest of the Holden Commodore range in Australia?
