General Motors Brands Rank High In J.D. Power Customer Service Index

It’s difficult to keep track of all of J.D. Power’s studies, but their latest one on customer service has four General Motors brands ranked in the Top Five, with Cadillac and Buick leading their respective classes.

GM News reports that Cadillac earned the highest ranking among 12 eligible luxury brands, while Buick outranked 18 other mass-market brands in the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI). Other General Motors brands did well in the mass-market category, with GMC ranking third and Chevrolet ranking fifth.

The CSI study measures satisfaction based on service initiation, service advisor, service facility, vehicle pick-up, and service quality (which carries the most weight among the categories). Both owners and lessees of vehicles between the age of one and five years in the U.S were surveyed.

“What makes this survey so valuable is that it is an objective measure of service satisfaction. The results of this benchmark study confirm our commitment to provide our customers with the best overall experience in the entire industry,” said David Mingle, executive director of Customer Experience.
