GM Authority heard it from a bird that Chevrolet Performance and the NMCA are in talks to promote an LSX crate engine class modeled after the NMRA’s Coyote Stock class.
According to NMCA’s Rollie Miller, “We are working hard with Chevrolet Performance Parts on a sealed LS engine program. We don’t have a lot of answers right now, but we will be bringing them to you as soon as we have information.” The purported “sealed crate engine class” package would include a 525-horsepower sealed crate engine with a Powerglide transmission, 28×10.5 tire, and weigh in at 3,150 pounds.
With the success of the Coyote Stock class, it sounds like this is something that could benefit both Chevrolet Performance and NMCA racers—what do you think?
