Corvette Racing might have been hoping for a better result at the inaugural race of the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship, the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, but Team Chevy on the whole walked away rather pleased with themselves.
Corvette Daytona Prototype cars swept the top four positions in the Prototype class, with the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP taking top spot. The sweep softened the blow for Team Chevy, who were hoping for a win from Corvette Racing at this year’s race at Daytona, which was the first time the team had raced at the track since they won there back in 2001.
The fifth and tenth place finishes for the No. 4 and No. 3 C7.Rs, respectively, were disappointing but not all surprising. The first race with a new car can present added challenges for a race team and Corvette Racing will be hoping they have all the bugs worked out of the C7.R in time for the second race of the TUDOR Championship, the 12 Hours of Sebring. To help get you excited for this weekend’s race, Chevrolet threw together a well-made video documenting some of Team Chevy’s highlights from the 24 Hours of Daytona. Check it out below.
