Shanghai OnStar received the Best Brand Communication Award at the 2013 Best China Telematics Awards, the General Motors subsidiary has announced. The award was handed out during the Telematics@China Forum, the world’s largest telematics summit.
Nominees for the award were selected by a panel of 1,118 industry experts from Telematics@China based on criteria which included customer satisfaction, technical leadership and overall perspective.
“As a leading global telematics brand, OnStar is committed to providing subscribers an excellent user experience and superior service through our industry-leading technology platform and on-going innovation,” Shanghai OnStar Managing Director, Diane Jurgens, said in a statement. “We will continue to raise the bar while supporting the sustained development of the domestic telematics industry.”
In July of 2013, Shanghai OnStar had nearly 600,000 subscribers and by February, that number had jumped to more than 700,000 subscribers nationwide. Shanghai OnStar provides Chinese subscribers with many of the same in-vehicle services as OnStar in North America, including Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, On-Demand Diagnostics and Hands-Free Calling.
