Data analysis firm Vincentric has awarded Chevrolet the title of Best Value Truck Brand in America, with the 2014 Silverado family (outgoing 2014 HD trucks included) being named a Best Value in America due to its lowest cost of ownership of any full-size pickup in America, according to their research.
So who are these Vincentric folks anyway? They are a research firm that analyzed a vehicle’s cost-of-ownership through eight different measures:
- Depreciation
- Fees and taxes
- Financing
- Fuel
- Insurance
- Maintenance
- Opportunity cost
- Repairs
Add up those ownership costs and put them up against the vehicle’s market price and the Silverado will come out on top, says Vincentric. In fact, their analysis used over 1,000 pickup truck configurations to identify Chevrolet as the best value truck line in the United States.
Of course, Silverado marketing manager John Fitzpatrick is mighty pleased. “With the average age of trucks on the road now more than 11 years, we know that customers hold on to their trucks for a long time. With the lowest cost of ownership of any full-size truck in the segment, the Silverado makes it easiest on our customers to do so.”
