Getting a celebrity to endorse your product is a big deal for any company. So you can imagine when The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon mentioned he was in the market for a new pickup truck during his show on Wednesday night, the Big Three jumped at the opportunity to get the famous funnyman into one of their offerings.
Ford was the first of the brands to reach out to Fallon. The automaker suggested he get behind the wheel of a 2015 F-150 King Ranch Edition over Twitter, even though it won’t be available until later on in the year. Chevrolet then jumped on the bandwagon the morning after and sent Fallon the following tweet:
Hey @jimmyfallon! Looking for a truck, huh? The #Silverado would look nice in the #FallonTonight family’s driveway. DM us & we’ll help!
— Chevrolet (@chevrolet) March 6, 2014
Ram took things the furthest, though. They parked a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. The bed of the truck carried a sign which read “Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out,” and the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon, a variation of the brand’s “Guts, Glory, Ram” tagline.
After an underwhelming launch, a celebrity endorsement might be just what the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado needs. What do you think GM should do to get Fallon behind the wheel of a Chevy? Let us know in the comments.

GMC Denali would look Waay Better in his Parking Space!! 😉
I agree, give him a GMC Denali with the 6.2L with some special badging on the front quarter panels or tailgate that says “Fallon Edition”.
They should give him a top-notch High Country or LTZ crew cab 4X4 5.3L to Jimmy for an extended test drive!
Take him to a GM design studio and let him design his own version of the silverado call it the Fallon Edition, and place it above the High Country in terms of price, but obviously he gets to take home the first one.
