Jeff Gordon, Pepsi Max Prank The Guy Who Questioned Authenticity Of Original “Test Drive”: Video

When Jeff Gordon and Pepsi Max released the original “Test Drive” video of a disguised Gordon test driving (hard) a Chevy Camaro at a dealership last year, some questioned its authenticity. One of those non-believers, if you will, was Travis Okulski from Jalopnik. So to prove that the original video was, in fact, real (and perhaps to teach him a lesson), Gordon and Pepsi MAX set out on Test Drive 2 — this time, pranking Okulski.

This time around, Gordon pretends to be a cabbie who is also an ex-convict who spent a decade in prison. Rather than piloting a Camaro like last time, Gordon is at the wheel of a (police-only) Chevy Caprice. Having picked up his passenger (Okulski) at a hotel, the cabbie gets pulled over by a police offer. What happens next is for you to see in the video below:

  2. Fake or not, great commercial. Jeff is so likeable doing these commercials that I might now be able to (almost) cheer for him during races. :~))) Good job #24!!

  3. How does a guy who works for a car sits, Jalopnik, not recognize a Caprice PPV as a taxi?

  4. Some people who run or post car sites are not always that smart. That is how you miss a Caprice.

I love these spots and love how they pulled one off on this guy. This was the ultimate pay back to an idiot on the web.

Just goes to prove even the so called experts are not as smart as they like the claim at times.

  7. His “Test Drive” video of a disguised Gordon test driving has become a mockery for me. I think that this is funny.
