The Holden Racing Team will be hungry for wins when the 2014 V8 Supercar Championship kicks off later this year. The factory-backed racing program returns to V8 Supercar action with an all-new red, white and silver paint scheme for their Holden VF Commodore race car.
The new livery features large SP Tools logos and the Holden Special Vehicles lion logo on both sides. Toll Group, who were one of the main sponsors of the Holden Racing Team since 2008, have stepped down from V8 Supercar sponsorship for the 2014 season. Mobil 1’s support has increased for 2014, with a large Mobil 1 logo now placed horizontally across the hood.
Last year, HRT broke a 20-month dry-spell for wins when driver Garth Tander took home a win at the Townsville 400. Tander is hoping changes to the team’s technical staff and the renewal of teammate James Courtney’s contract will help the team carry some momentum into the new season.
“I’m excited about the changes,” Tander said. “With the new personnel we have on board there’s a real buzz around the HRT workshop right now.”
The team’s new look was revealed earlier this week in the pits of Australia’s Mount Panorama Circuit at Bathurst. HRT and their new Commodore will take to the track on February 15 for the V8 Test Day at Sydney Motorsports Park in New South Wales.
