D3 Group, tuner of some of the most wild late-model Cadillacs we’ve ever seen, has announced an agreement with General Motors to become an Officially Licensed Partner for producing Cadillac goods and parts.
The agreement enables D3 to launch an exclusive line of officially licensed Cadillac products that will be distributed through GM’s nationwide dealer network. The program will begin to roll out during the second quarter of this year with all types of products including appearance and performance parts, accessories, car care items, and soft goods.
“We are excited to have this unique opportunity to develop these new products under our new OLP partnership. This gives us the opportunity to take our passion for performance & styling modifications and share it on a larger platform through this program.” James Gill, President of D3 Group, Inc. said in a statement.
The news is good for both D3 and Cadillac customers as the officially licensed program will allow them to upgrade and customize their vehicles with D3 parts without voiding the factory warranty. All D3 parts will come with a manufacturer warranty, can be bought through your local dealership and are developed and produced within the U.S. D3 says the partnership allows them to produce official parts for the entire range of Cadillac vehicles, including the ATS sedan and Coupe and the forthcoming 2015 Escalade.

I do favor this move, as I favor D3’s work. Hopefully, they find a more luxurious and prestigious badge for D3; the current one just doesn’t match Cadillac’s quality. That simple, boring sticker should be replaced soon with something more worthy.
Good move for those people with turbo engines not voiding factory warranty when getting a tune. ATS 2.0 getting a bump to 330hp for a just a few hundred dollars is an amazing deal. D3 hasn’t done it yet, but the XTS Vsport was just tuned to 500hp by another company, CTS Vsport will be similar, and you can bet D3 is working on their own tune for that 3.6TT.
I’m frustrated by the lack of performance upgrades for my 2013 ATS Performance Edition 3.6 – specifically a catback HP exhaust system and an upgrade cold air intake system. For example Magnaflow has released a system for the 2.0T and the 2.5 base I4, but not the 3.6. No one offers an upgrade cold air intake system. Interior and exterior trim pieces galore with wheels and tire combinations. Been there, done that.
Performance pieces for the 3.6 will come in time. The 2.0T is the model everyone is focused on, it’s the performer of the model line up, and when you can hit 340hp and 365lb-ft with a tune and intake, plus have the option of a manual trans it’s easy to see why that is.
