General Motors announced today that more than seven million people have put the rewards earned from their GM Card from Capital One towards the purchase of a new vehicle. The GM Card accumulates earnings for each purchase made with the card, which can then be redeemed to buy or lease a new GM vehicle.
Thomas E. Jama Sr., who has been a GM Cardmember since 1996, was the seven millionth person to use their GM Card credits to purchase a new vehicle after buying a 2014 GMC Terrain Denali from Nick Abraham Buick GMC in Elyria, Ohio.
“The GM Card is a great way to save money on a new car or truck and it’s really easy – you just show up at the dealership and show your card,” Jama said.
The GM Card offers cardholders five percent earnings on all purchases on their first $5,000 worth of transactions and an unlimited 2 percent earnings on all other purchases. The card comes with no annual fee and unlike years prior, has no limit on the amount of rewards consumers can accumulate.
