The Costco Auto Program released the sales results from the General Motors Limited Time Offer today, which ended on January 2. Sales during the 80-day promotion surpassed the number of vehicles sold during last year’s 92-day offer, with the program helping to move more than 21,000 vehicles off of GM lots.
During the limited time offer, Costco members received GM Supplier and Friends pricing as well as all available manufacturer rebates and incentives on eligible Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC models. Costco members who made a qualifying purchase also received $500 Costco Cash Card when they completed the Costco Auto Program member satisfaction survey.
The truck segment continued to be the most popular this year, with the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado accounting for 39 percent of all vehicles sold through the program. This year’s program also saw Costco members flock more towards luxury vehicles than in years prior. Cadillac was offered in the program for the first time and sold more than 3,000 vehicles over the 80-day period, accounting for 14 percent of all GM vehicles sold during the GM Limited Time Offer.
California accounted for nearly 30 percent of all units sold through the Costco Auto Program during the Limited Time Offer. Unsurprisingly, nearly 60 percent of all 1,400 Chevrolet Volts sold through the program were in California.

Sounds like they should do this more often. If it is boosting sales by that much, why not?
