Chevrolet #TheNew Opening Ceremony Ad: Ad Break

The new us is just like the old us. Sure, instead of a phone call, maybe you use Skype. And instead of playing home videos on your TV in your living room, you watch them on YouTube. But some things like love, success, community and family will always be constant, even if they are ever evolving.

This ad played during the opening ceremonies of this year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia and is one of eight ads the company will air over the next few weeks. The Olympics, particularly the opening ceremonies, represent unity, which might be why Chevrolet chose to depict generational and ethnic diversity and new, modern day values in the ad.

The commercial was also the first appearance of  the “#TheNew” tagline, which will appear in all of Chevy’s commercials over the course of the next few weeks.  Have a look at the commercial below and let us know what you think of Chevrolet’s Olympics ad campaign in the comments.

Sam loves to write and has a passion for auto racing, karting and performance driving of all types.

  1. Personnally I don’t like this type of ad. It is hard to be blind to color or differences when it’s constantly being thrown in your face. I prefer to judge people by how they treat others and what they do rather than how they look.

  2. I have been a faithful Chevrolet buyer for 50 years. These new ads have convinced me, I’m done buying Chevrolets.
