Chevrolet has officially launched the Adra CUV concept at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi, India.
Chevrolet says the Adra, which was designed entirely by Indian designers at GM’s Technical Center in Bangalore, is designed to cater to the next generation of Indian car buyers. It offers all the advantages of a larger SUV, such as high ground clearance, a spacious interior and good visibility, in a compact package.
“The Adra is a major achievement for our local designers, who conceptualized and designed the model from the ground up,” GM India President and Managing Director, Lowell Paddock, said in a statement.”It represents a new possibility for the fast-growing compact SUV segment.”
Chevrolet also launched the facelifted Beat hatchback alongside the Adra at the Auto Expo. The updated Beat received a new front fascia, headlights, foglamps and rear spoiler akin to the current Chevrolet Spark.
Inside, the Beat has new silver trim, a height adjustable drivers seat and on select models, steering wheel mounted audio controls.
Chevrolet will offer 10 variants of the Beat in India, priced between Rs 4.06 lakh ($7100 USD) and Rs 6.10 lakh (USD $10, 827).

The public wanted smaller headlights, but they clearly never complained about grill being too small LOL
Is it me or is it that the adra kinda looks like the Kia Soul?
Not just you. Seems to be the unanimous opinion of it.
I just really thought the side profile looks similar to the Soul
Yes the car is considered Chevys Soul. Some news reports have even stated this.
I am just not feeling it for this car. I hope they keep this body style overseas and do one for our market that would work better.
Those Adra headlamps look as if they were carved out of Cadillac headlamps.
I sure hope this won’t become a Cadillac…
I like the front!! Does looik better than the Soul though
I don’t think it would sell well in The U.S. market. They really need to change that putrid rear fascia (perhaps wraparound windows?). .
Hopefully all goes well in India though. .
I love the front facada. Should be the new small small corporate face.
Holden posted on facebook saying it was a calibration between GM India and Holden.
Nice looking concept, especially the front.
The Fascia looks very nice! hopefully it doesn’t get lost in translation from concept to production.
