Chevrolet Cruze Owners Favored OnStar RemoteLink App During Polar Vortex

On an absolutely frigid January 7th, more than 200,000 requests from owners to remotely start their General Motors vehicles were sent through the OnStar RemoteLink mobile app, breaking a single-day record. In total, Chevrolet owners made 2,909,674 requests to remotely start their vehicles from their phones in January. And of those requests, 55 percent were from Cruze owners. The RemoteLink app also allows owners to check the tire pressure, oil life, etc. of their vehicle.

“Chevrolet, paired with the RemoteLink app available through OnStar, offers one of the most winter-weather ready lineups of any manufacturer,” said Philip M. Abram, GM chief infotainment officer.

The RemoteLink application is available for most current GM cars and requires an OnStar subscription.
