Big Muscle Drives A Coachbuilt 1968 Camaro: Video

Back in December 2012, Big Muscle host Mike Musto took a drive down to Oxnard, CA. to drive one of the most tastefully modified restomod Camaro’s we’ve ever seen. It had a 540 horsepower LS7, a TR6060 six-speed transmission and ludicrously wide 315 tires in the front and 345’s in the back. Unfortunately, a bit of a damper was put on their filming day when it began to rain, so they promised to do a follow up video with the Camaro simply known as “Blu Balz”.

Now, Blu Balz is back, and better than ever. The car started out life as a normal ’68 Camaro, but has leaped into the 21st century with a host of modern performance upgrades installed by JCG Restorations. Apart from the modern powertrain there are Wilwood brakes, Detroit Speed suspension components and JRi shocks. Inside there is a carbon dash, Sparco racing seats, a roll cage and a chunky racing wheel. As Musto says, there are almost too many small details on this car to be able to take them all in.

Luckily, the second time Big Muscle filmed Blu Balz, the sky was clear and the California sun was shining. What’s more, JCG and the car’s owner rented out Buttonwillow raceway so Musto could thrash the car until his heart was content. Check out the video just below.

Sam loves to write and has a passion for auto racing, karting and performance driving of all types.
