The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD has already begun arriving on dealer lots and it won’t be long before you start to see the big, brutish trucks at a job site near you. To give potential customers a bit of an idea of what color combinations and optional extras they might want for their next work horse, Chevy has launched a build-your-own feature for the new truck.
The configurator is complete with all cab and bed sizes and pricing for each. We couldn’t help but make our own, so we picked a Crew Cab with a Standard Box painted in Summit White along with the 6.6 liter Duramax diesel engine, Z71 off-road package, a power sunroof, heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel and few other goodies. It came in at $58,320. Hey, we’re allowed to dream, right?

Pity that you can’t dream a little bigger by choosing “High Country” edition with these new HD’s. It doesn’t make sense to me!
Do you really need a high country for what supposed to be a work truck?
Have you seen ranchers in mid-west and south? They drive King Ranch’s, Laramies and some even Denali dually’s. these guys want to haul their cattle, etc. with comfort and all the bells and whistles.
Haha the HD in the picture looks like it’s throwing smoke up in the air, with big rig style exhausts, not giving a hoot about using def, is this a special option?
If you view work (trucks) the same way you consider work (boots) you likely won’t willingly chooses less comfortable boots because of the abuse they will likely be put through. Just the opposite probably. Not quite the same thing, I realize. But, if one can afford 58,000 large, 65,000 is probably just as doable. Having been out west a couple times, I have to admit my surprise at the number of high-end trucks(all brands) that were driven by ranchers. Judging by the dents and scuffs, those trucks were work trucks. I would make a(terrible!!) rancher. I just wouldn’t be able to treat any vehicle like that. :~))
built one with diesel for 42000, then a loaded one for 68.000
I thought I was the only one who “dreamed” like that! I guess you could call it “pre-researching” for your next vehicle. I too wish for a High Country HD!
That’s what GM needs a even more expensive truck!
